Exaggerated Blood Splatters, Dismemberment, and Strong Language Will Feature in Resident Evil 7 biohazard

Resident Evil 7 biohazard was one of the titles announced during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and is also perhaps one of the most anticipated titles as it has not been detailed since. Now, as the title has been rated as M for Mature, more information has inevitably been shared.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) shared some somewhat in-depth information on what will actually feature in the VR Resident Evil title. When it comes to the weapons that players will have access to, it is shared that we will be able to play around with pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives and chainsaws – all that we would expect of this FPS.

The storyline is expanded on throughout this analysis, as it is shared that the players will take the role of Ethan, a man searching for his missing wife in a derelict mansion – a setting much like the other Resident Evil titles.

As we have our hands on these pretty devastating weapons, next comes what we can only hope for: the gore. There will be “exaggerated blood-splatter effects”, along with screams of pain. More specifically, there will be some more intense violence: “a character’s arm dismembered by a chainsaw; a man’s leg taken off at the knee with a shovel; a character impaled through the face with a shovel. Some areas also depict mutilated corpses with exposed organs/viscera.”

As well as all this expected mature content, there will also be the use of the “words “f**k” and “sh*t”” in the diaalogue.

For those who want to get their hands on this title, it will be coming out for the PlayStation VR on the 24th January 2017.
