uSens Debuting AR/VR Tracking Solutions at SIGGRAPH 2016

Hand-and-head tracking technology specialist uSens has announced today it’ll be showcasing a new collaboration with Daimler China IT Innovation Lab during SIGGRAPH 2016 this week.

The demonstration uSens will be revealing to attendees lets participants observe and interact with the exterior and interior details of a 3D car model in augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). The experience will take users on a virtual drive over San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge whilst letting them tryout uSens’ 26 degrees-of- freedom (DOF) hand tracking and 6DOF head tracking technology.

SIGGRAPH 2016 visitors will also be able to experience uSens’ tracking technologies in additional mobile and PC-based demos for applications such as entertainment and education.

“ARVR won’t reach its potential to create a truly immersive experience unless hardware makers and content developers overcome the challenges of natural hand and head tracking on both PC and mobile platforms,” said Dr. Yue Fei, CTO and co-founder of uSens. “We’re excited to provide the SIGGRAPH audience the first opportunity to take our ARVR application for a ‘test spin.'”

Last month uSens announced the closure of a new funding round led by Fosun Kinzon Capital. The Series A round managed to secure $20 million USD. The funding will allow the company to continue with its development and launch plans for its hand-tracking/head-tracking system in 2016.
