NVIDIA Releases Game Ready Driver for DiRT Rally VR, Confirms July Launch

Codemasters has been talking about a virtual reality (VR) version of its popular racing title DiRT Rally for sometime now. Last month the developer posted on Reddit that work was still in progress but couldn’t confirm when the update would likely be implemented. Today it seems graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA has revealed the update will occur later this month as its released a DiRT Rally VR Game Ready Driver for its products in preparation.

In a posting on the GeForce website NVIDIA announced the GeForce Game Ready 368.69 WHQL drivers are now available to download, so that when DiRT Rally VR launches on the Oculus Rift head-mounted display, gamers PC’s will be ready straight away.

Slightly further down the post the company notes: “DiRT Rally VR will launch with on the Oculus Store, while existing PC players will receive the update via Steam this month. For an optimized experience when it launches, be sure to grab the new Game Ready driver.”

Codemasters hasn’t yet released any details on the actual date of launch but gamers should keep an eye on Oculus Home for something soon. And as the announcement states Steam users will also see the update, presumably at the same time if you’ve already purchased it via Steam.
