The past week has seen a few releases that enable players to try their hand at different activities, such as boxing in virtual reality (VR). Now the latest simulation VR experience in DrumKit VR out for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD).
There are eight components to this videogame, which include all of the important parts to a drum kit in real life. These include a 22 inch Bass Drum, 14 inch Hi-Hat, 14 inch Floor Tom, 18 inch Crash Cymbal, 14 inch Snare Drum, 13 and 16 inch Tom-Tom, 12 inch Splash Cymbal, 20 inch Ride Cymbal, and a 20 inch China Cymbal.
Using the motion controllers, players can either hit each of the components to create great music, or just simply go wild and create as much noise as you possibly can. “Two Vive handles are equivalent to drumsticks. Pull the left trigger to make Hi-Hat Open-Closed. Pull the right trigger to make a hit on Bass Drum. It’s that simple!”
This isn’t the final version, however, as there is another one coming out according to the developer on the Steam store page, but it is not clear when that version will be coming. What is clear is that it will come with custom sound, so there will be more versatility and flexability to the gameplay.
DrumKit VR does also come with a warning for those who may get a little carried away, saying “Make sure there are no obstructions within the scope of activities or other people, especially children.”
Right now, DrumKit VR is currently available at the price of £3.99 (GBP) and is only available for the HTC Vive HMD.
