Steam Dev Days Returning in October 2016

Steam Dev Days is a two day conference open to any Steam developer from around the world. The last event took place two years ago in January 2014, and now Valve has announced its return for this October, in Seattle, Washington.

The conference will allow developers to learn about and discuss new Steam features and advances in gaming on Windows, OS X, Linux and SteamOS. Topics covered will include Virtual Reality, what’s new for SteamVR, features, game design and technical discussions; Steam Hardware, with best practices for the Steam Controller and what advancements are coming for the Steam Controller and Steam Link; Steam Business and Marketing, Steam growth, new features, and what to consider before, during and after your launch and Steam Workshop and User-Generated Content.

The HTC Vive, Valve’s collaborative project with HTC has featured heavily in the news this week with several high profile announcements. A couple of days ago HTC addressed the issue of Vive deliveries by announcing that any new orders processed through the dedicated website would be shipped worldwide within 72 hours. And earlier today a new HTC Vive Business Edition has been revealed, allowing companies to purchase the head-mounted display (HMD) with additional services adapted for business and commercial environments.
