Take to the Skies with Immersive Dassault Aviation app for Oculus Rift

Companies around the world are embracing virtual reality (VR) technology as a new way to engage with consumers and the public at large. Dassault Aviation a French military and civil aircraft manufacturer has released a new VR experience called Immersive Dassault Aviation which allows players to take control of three of the company’s planes.

The app which supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) features three different gameplay modes. The first is a patrol flight in a Rafale fighter jet, players must maintain their position with the Rafale, in relation to the nEUROn and the Falcon 7X that are flying in formation, anticipating any changes in heading and formation.

The second mode is a target course, where you’ll need to fly the Rafale through the centre of virtual targets, following the best possible flight path. While the final mode is called Autopilot. This mode allows you to discover the characteristics of the Rafale, Falcon 7X (a civil aircraft) and nEUROn (a combat Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)), while they perform a formation flight over Mont-Blanc.

Immersive Dassault Aviation was conceived and designed by the E-Communication team at Dassault Aviation and by the Modedemploi SOFTEAM Digital agency. The app was first revealed last summer at several air shows and can now be downloaded from www.dassault-aviation.com.
