Daniël Ernst’s New VR Diorama Launching on Vive Today

Yesterday VRFocus reported that indie developer Daniël Ernst would be bringing his original entry into The Shoebox Diorama series, Blocked In, to the HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) with new support for Room-Scale user-tracking. The title originally released as a free download for the first development kit (DK1) for the Oculus Rift all the way back in 2013, making its return somewhat of a surprise. More surprising, however, is the news that the brand new, third entry in this series has been revealed, and is arriving today.

This new diorama is titled The Marchland and the first trailer for it can now be seen below. The footage doesn’t reveal much about the project, though discovering this for yourself will likely be an important aspect. “In this diorama you will experience what it feels like to be in-between worlds, to become a poltergeist of some sorts,” a Steam listing notes. “You’re invisible, but you will see, feel and hear objects in the environment react to your touch.”

The Marchland also supports Room-Scale tracking an even tracked motion controllers, which suggests that there will be a degree of interactivity to the experience.
