The list of big name development studios is fairly small in the virtual reality (VR) industry at present. A big portion is made up of indie developers which gives VR a sort of community spirit with everyone willing it to succeed. Some of the more prominent names creating immersive experiences include Epic Games, Crytek and Ubisoft. The latter revealed today a new project Werewolves Within, but new details have also surfaced on its other VR title Eagle Flight.
At the Unity conference today for the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2016, VRFocus has now learned that Eagle Flight, which has only been confirmed so far for Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE’s) PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD) will also be supporting the HTC Vive.
There’s been no information yet on a release date for Eagle Flight on PlayStation VR, that maybe coming later today at SCE’s press conference. But with the HTC Vive launch only a few weeks away, the videogame may appear earlier than expected depending on how far through development it is.
There hasn’t been many details released for Eagle Flight since its initial announcement, but it will feature single player missions comprising ring parkour and shooting challenges. While the multiplayer will allow up to six people to fight it out in the streets, exploring Paris to find collectibles and hidden passageways to gain the advantage in two modes. As a bird of prey players will need to reach the highest point of view to locate enemies before diving towards them to take them down.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of Eagle Flight, reporting back any new announcements.
