If you have attended talks or know much about virtual reality (VR), you will know a few no-nos are horror titles and text-heavy gameplay, but with some titles – if done right – it turns out to be a naturally immersive experience. Robot Invader, makers of mystery title DEAD SECRET, achieved this and has set the date for its seventh videogame for the end of this month, available on PC and for the Samsung Gear VR mobile-based head-mounted display (HMD).
The horror game takes place in rural Kansas in 1965 and is a murder mystery where the player works their way through creepy settings to discover clues. It was said in a press release by the Robot Invader Team that “Our analytics show that players are spending hours playing DEAD SECRET, and the title has managed to remain one of the top-ten best-selling applications on Gear VR for almost its entire tenure on that store. We’re pretty happy about our 4.5/ 5 star rating as well.”
The title will be available from 28th March on Steam for the PC and the Oculus Store for Gear VR, but wherever you buy it you will receive both versions – either by a copy that has both incorporated or by free unlock code, and this goes for those who have pre-ordered DEAD SECRET too.
