Retro Gaming And Virtual Reality Combined in Null of Hope

Back in August 2015 VRFocus reported on virtual reality (VR) title Null of Hope created by developer Wade Arcade undergoing a Steam Greenlight campaign. Now Wade Arcade has launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign to raise $50,000 USD to complete the title.

Null of Hope is a retro adventure role-playing game (RPG) given a VR twist, where players are put in a virtual environment playing a classic list and click style videogame. Cast in the role of Null as you embark on a turn-based quest, the retro designs seen on screen don’t stay there and instead affect the player outside of the game.

The backer reward tiers begin at $16 USD for a limited quantity, this is a 50 per cent discount off the normal price of the videogame, and includes the full title and Steam Early Access. The tiers then raise up to a maximum $1,024 USD, which features previous tier rewards as well as the backers likeness being put into Null of Hope. There’re also several stretch goals listed at $64K, $96K and $128K to add various customisation options.

If you own an Oculus Rift a Null of Hope demo can be downloaded from nullofhope.com, this features the first 20 minutes of gameplay from the VR experience. VRFocus will continue its coverage of Null of Hope, reporting back with any further progress on the campaign.
