The Solus Project, a single-player survival adventure videogame from GRIP Digital and Teotl Studios will be releasing on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview later this month. In the run up to this, the studios have released a second developer video talking you through some of the features of The Solus Project.
Players are stranded on a strange deserted alien planet where you must survive the harsh, volatile environment. While the planet is seemingly empty, you’ll be confronted with merciless weather, as you try to unravel the deep secrets hidden under the surface. Added to this is the fact that mankind is on the brink of destruction and it was up to you and your now dead crew to find a way to save the human race.
“With the flood of run-of-the-mill survival sandbox games around us, we can’t wait to show the players something different – a narrative-driven, single player survival experience, full of mystery and millennia-old secrets waiting to be unravelled” said Jakub Mikyska, CEO of GRIP Digital in a statement.
“After more than two years of development, we are ready to show our vision of what survival games could be – a hand-crafted adventure about the struggle between a man and nature and mankind’s will to survive,” added Sjoerd De Jong, CEO of Teotl Studios.
Steam Early Access will launch on 18th February while the Xbox Game Preview will be available on 26th, February 2016. Virtual reality (VR) support will be available but its currently unclear if the early access version will include it at this time.
The Solus Project will also be released as episodic content updates in early access, offering new ways to explore with every update, as well as continuation of the story. The final version will be fully released in May 2016.
VRFocus will continue to follow the latest updates for The Solus Project, reporting back any further announcements.
