Yesterday VRFocus reported on the news that Samantha Kalman, a Seattle-based indie developer best known for her work on music title Sentris, was working on two unique experiences for virtual reality (VR) platforms. Both are experimental pieces in which players explore surreal and impossible landscapes. The first is code named Unwinding and is on its way to the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD), while the second is under the temporary title of Project Red. Back at E3 2015, VRFocus spoke to Kalman about her interest in VR.
In the interview below, Kalman talks about why VR appeals to her, and what areas she’s exploring with the technology. She also talks about how VR is helping her to take a ‘mental break’ from the development of Sentris, and her first experiences trying out Valve and HTC’s HTC Vive HMD.
