It’s been a busy few weeks for the team at Phaser Lock Interactive and its debut virtual reality (VR) videogame, Final Approach. Following an interview with VRFocus going live, the company was also one of the handful of studios to be at this week’s Steam VR Developer Showcasing, exhibiting its upcoming project on the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). The title is also on display at PAX South this weekend. Now Phaser Lock Interactive is rounding out the week with a batch of new images for Final Approach.
A total of 20 new images have been revealed for the title, which is also on its way to the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR. Previously fans had seen an island airport setting for the title, but these new screenshots reveal a bigger, urban area as well as a level set around an aircraft carrier. The former sees players manage choppers that go between construction sites, police stations and hospitals while the latter has jets frantically landing and taking off as a battle unfolds. Players seemingly even take command of a turret during this segment.
Final Approach will be launching in April 2016 alongside the HTC Vive itself. The title will also be getting post-launch DLC. For the latest on the project, keep reading VRFocus.
