Unreal Engine 4.10.1 Hotfix Released

A new hotfix for Unreal Engine 4.10 has been made available today. Known as Unreal Engine 4.10.1, this latest update brings with it more than 40 new bug fixes, including one dedicated to the development of virtual reality (VR) software.

Considered the most stable version of Unreal Engine 4 to date, Unreal Engine 4.10 launched at the beginning of last month. Epic Games had recently stated its intentions to rollout smaller updates for the engine more regularly, and this latest hotfix arriving less than a month after Unreal Engine 4.10 is a testament to that.

Unreal Engine 4.10.1 includes a number of notable fixes, including plenty of iOS specific updates, optimisation of head-related transfer function (HRTF) audio spatialisation and a transfer issues that has occurred when some users have attempted to bring a project forward from an older version of the engine. Specifically for VR, error code UE-23664, which saw a clash between pushing builds to SteamVR and while the Oculus 0.8 SDK was running, has been fixed.

The full changelog for Unreal Engine 4.10.1 can be found on the official Unreal Engine forums, and the hotfix itself can be downloaded via the Epic Games Launcher. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest engine updates relevant to VR development.
