Earlier in the year UK-based studio Rewind partnered with the BBC to launch a brand new 360 degree video experience based on its popular dancing content show, Strictly Come Dancing. This week the pair have teamed up once more to release a new, fully stereoscopic 3D experience that gives viewers a front row seat in the audience.
As for the first show, virtual reality (VR) production studio Rewind created a custom rig of high-end 6k Red Dragon cameras to allow the acquisition of high fidelity 360 degree footage. The studio then used additional cameras to gather synchronised footage from above, below and behind alongside integrated high-fidelity binaural audio to create the most immersive 360 degree experience possible.
The 360 degree VR video can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app for the 360 degree experience. If you own a Google Cardboard or similar head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video through the YouTube app for the full effect.
VRFocus will continue to bring you all the latest 360 degree videos and VR experiences from Rewind as the studio announces them.
