Vertigo Games have been aggressively pursuing status in the field of virtual reality (VR) videogame development for some time now, with numerous titles on the way. The first announced for the new medium, World of Diving, has been available as a public beta and compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) for some time, but now the studio has confirmed to VRFocus that the title will also support the Oculus Touch motion-controllers upon launch.
World of Diving is a simulation videogame designed to appeal to those already involved with the real-world activity and those intrigued by the possibility of it. Since launching via Steam Early Access last year the videogame has built a devoted following. Throughout this process Vertigo Games has added numerous significant updates to the title and continue to do so, now with the confirmation of Oculus Touch support.
Oculus Touch is currently expected to launch mid 2016, with development kits being distributed early next year. World of Diving will offer compatibility of the motion-controllers by incorporating ‘diving gestures’. The full extent of this is not yet known, however given the passion for diving evident in World of Diving its likely to be symbiotic with the current gameplay opposed to being shoe-horned into the experience.
Also in development at Vertigo Games are multi-format release Skyworld and the HTC Vive title Arizona Sunshine. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on these and future VR projects from Vertigo Games.
