For truly immersive virtual reality (VR) it’s not just visuals that play a factor. Audio quality has just an important role in making and breaking VR experiences. Which is why Scottish software company Two Big Ears, that specialises in 3D spatial audio technologies has launched today the 3Dception Spatialiser Suite. The audio suite has been designed primarily for developers working on VR and augmented reality (AR) experiences.
Creating 3D audio for 360 degree VR experiences can be a challenging process, and Two Big Ears is aiming to simplify the process with 3Dception Spatialiser Suite.
The software is designed as a single solution that augments existing workflows, allowing sound designers to author sounds inside Digital Audio Workstations, preview the spatial audio mix for 360 videos on the Oculus Rift or desktop in real-time and render the whole soundscape in real-time based on the head-tracking data from the user. The rendering engine is completely cross platform and helps create rich and detailed soundscapes across desktop and mobile operating systems. The audio experiences that are created perfectly match what the viewer is seeing.
3Dception Spatialiser Suite can be downloaded from www.twobigears.com from today, for either a monthly or yearly fee. Users can choose which software to integrate the suite with, either Unity, Wwise or FMOD prior to downloading.
VRFocus will continue to follow all the latest news and announcements on VR, reporting back any further details.
UPDATE: VRFocus has been informed by the developer that a dedicated microsite will be available on Wednesday 21st October, and the software’s title has now been changed to 3Dception Spatial Workstation. VRFocus apologises for the confusion.
