Virtual reality (VR) fans may be familiar with Side-Kick Games, a developer and publisher of numerous videogames that’s starting to focus on the technology. The company has already revealed a VR port of one of its most popular titles, Romans From Mars, for the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) in Romans 360. Today, the company is announcing a big expansion into VR, revealing a new advisory board of experienced industry members and the launch of a new office in Newport Beach, California.
Those members are David De Martini, CEO of De Martini Consulting, Elad Dubzinski, COO of Lucid, O&A, P.C. founder and attorney Dan Offner, JAZZ Venture Partners founding member John Spinale, and Matterport Vice President Oren Tversky. Each will bring their experience in the industry to the company to help pave the way for its VR-heavy future.
What’s more, Side-Kick Games website reveals that the company has a total of 10 VR videogames in the works right now. 5 of these will be releasing before the end of the year while the others will follow in Q1 2016. These titles haven’t been revealed but they will be for mobile platforms and the company does note that it is working with ‘major players’ in the VR space.
“Side-Kick Games has a history of creating high quality mobile games, and they’re pioneering cross-platform mobile VR development with cutting-edge technology and incredibly immersive experiences,” said Dan Offner, who himself was one of the early investors in Oculus VR. “I look forward to our partnership in bringing fun and accessible entertainment to the mobile VR market.”
VRFocus will continue to follow Side-Kick Games closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the company.
