When it comes to outer space there is one unequivocal rule. If aliens show up they’re probably here just to lay waste to the planet. It’s just the way it is.
Following in that vein is a new Oculus VR Share title We Come In Peace… in which, of course, an alien race most assuredly has not. Developed by headgear off of a Gear VR jam title, you control a drone mounted with a seriously beefy laser canon with your Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD). Through moving your head to look at targets the laser canon will fire upon them. Power-ups can be gained through defeating the tougher mothership-style flying saucer enemies that occasionally appear.
Reworked as a proof of concept for DK2, the game retains its 360 degree action which may cause problems; the makers recommend you be careful with your cables. Should you wish to try it out and defend the Earth from invasion it is free to download now.
VRFocus will be back on Friday with one final new virtual reality (VR) project this week. For now be sure to check back on the site throughout the day for the very latest in VR and augmented reality news.
