New To VR: If You Need To Outrun The Galactic Empire Head To Docking Bay 94

We’ve spoken about Star Wars several times before on VRFocus so you can imagine how excited we are at both the prospect of Episode VII and of an official virtual reality (VR) experience. Whilst we wait for that though there are plenty of creators who want to invest their time creating their own Star Wars VR experiences and that’s what we have on today’s New To VR.

Docking Bay 94The creation of developer Dean Crawford and published by Fictum Ltd, Docking Bay 94 is a recreation of the area of Mos Eisley’s spaceport on Tattooine where the Millennium Falcon is initially parked in the original Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope). Recreated in Unreal Engine 4, both Han Solo and Chewbacca are by the Falcon which you can walk around, getting up close and personal with one of the most iconic vessels in fiction.

Supporting the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD) the experience, which cna be controlled through either keyboard and mouse or gamepad, is available now to download on Oculus VR Share.

VRFocus will be back tomorrow with another new VR videogame or experience for you to try.
