Munich VR Meetup Announced

As the virtual reality (VR) community grows so do the small group events held by fans and enthusiasts across the globe. Taking place this month is a Meetup in the German city of Munich. Using the EUVR.org group page, this is the Munich VR’s fifth event since it started in August 2014. One of the highlights of this months evening event will be the inclusion of the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD).

The Munich VR Meetup is using the EUVR.org page as part of a 2015 initiative to bring the European VR scene closer together. First steps were the European meetups in Paris in June, Cologne at Gamescom and Brussels which took place last month, with the first local meetup to join the ranks being Munich.

The Oculus Rift headset is tested by attendees at the Eurogamer Expo at Earls Court in London.

Apart from the HTC Vive HMD being at the event, there will also be the Oculus Rift DK1/DK2, Durovis Dive, Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard and more for attendees to demo.

The meetup will be taking place at the offices of Mantro.net, on Saturday 17th October 2015, beginning at 5pm – 9pm CET. There will be talks alongside the demo opportunities, although no developer has yet been confirmed for the event. As in generally the case with a lot of evening meetups, entry is free but space can be limited due to venue restrictions.

Further details can be found on the Munich VR meetup page, and VRFocus will continue to report on new meetups being announced.
