Next week sees the release of one of the most popular virtual reality (VR) titles from within the VR community, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Creator Steel Crate Games has of course already released the long awaited title on the Gear VR mobile head-mounted display (HMD) but 8th October 2015 will see it come to the PC with support for the Oculus Rift’s second development kit (DK2). Recently, VRFocus got the chance to talk with Steel Crate Games’ Ben Kane about the project.
In the interview below, Kane talks about the upcoming release, explaining just how players interact with Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. As anyone that’s been following the title will know, this is a multiplayer experience in which one person wears the given HMD and disarms a bomb using instructions issued by the other player. Here, Kane talks about discovering this unique dynamic within VR and what the developer’s overall approach to social VR is.
There’s also talk of where else Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes might be seen in the coming months. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with the latest updates on it.
