Coffee Brand Nescafé Launches 360 Degree Experience

Virtual reality (VR) technology is continuing is relentless push into the mainstream, as more companies across the globe are using it to promote themselves and their brands. New to the line-up is coffee manufacturer Nescafé, which has created a 360 degree immersive video experience of a plantation in Brazil.

Called Nescafé 360°, the short VR experience drives viewers through a plantation in Brazil as the coffee cherries are harvested. The plantation is one of many from around the world that Nescafé is partnered with, through the farmers connect program.

The 360 degree VR video (shown below) can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app for the 360 degree experience. If you own a Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video through the YouTube app for a more immersive experience.

Other companies who have produced similar 360 degree videos include tequila maker Patrón with its Art of Patrón Virtual Reality Experience and cereal manufacturer Kellogg’s supplying a cardboard HMD to go with its VR experiences.
