Broad Strokes Reveal Flowstone Cave VR Project

Indie developer Broad Strokes who previously created puzzle solving virtual reality (VR) videogame Euclidia, in a 72 hour period for Unreal Engines December 2014 game jam, has revealed a new VR project. Called Flowstone Cave VR, the title is available to download for the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD).

The Flowstone Cave VR title is a free, short interactive experience for Oculus VR’s HMD. There is no objective – it is just an environment to explore. There is no way to win or lose. Just grab your flashlight, look around, and play tourist.

The current version will support Oculus VR’s 0.7 software development kit (SDK), but its unclear if the title will work with the latest 0.8 SDK.

The project was created by game designer Jan Kaluza who runs developer Broad Strokes. He has also previously created the Over 9000 Swords modular weapon system with Lee Devonald. It allows users to create thousands of sword variations for their projects using 44 different components split over four categories, it’s possible to make up to 13,552 different unique swords.

VRFocus will continue to report on the latest VR projects, as they’re announced by Broad Strokes.
