Big Knockout Boxing VR released for the Gear VR
The Samsung Gear VR has seen a number of new releases and announcements recently, care of the Oculus Connect 2 conference last month. New to launch this week is Big Knockout Boxing (BKB) VR, that allows viewer to get right in on the action, all in virtual reality (VR).
BKB is a combat sport brand developed and owned by DirecTV. The sport is similar to boxing but does not use a ring, ropes, corners and three minute rounds. The sport debuted in 2013 with two events, and was then officially sanctioned in March 2014 by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
In BKB VR fights viewers will experience won’t be live, instead the app delivers pre-recorded 360 degree video. The footage will also be available via Samsungs Milk VR video platform.
As well as Gear VR support the app will also become available for Android and iOS smartphones, so users can use head-mounted displays (HMDs) like Google Cardboard.
VRFocus will continue to report on all the latest Gear VR releases as they’re announced.
