Russian developer Gaijin Entertainment the studio which has created the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) supporting World War 2-era online combat title, War Thunder, is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain this week. The developer will be having special events to mark the occasion all week.
Between 10th July – 31st October 1940, the Battle of Britain aerial war campaign between the United Kingdom and Germany took place. Celebrating the historic battle for air supremacy Gaijin Entertainment has created an action packed week full of exciting events, aimed at recreating several Axis vs. Allied battles of WW2 over Britain, from 3pm GMT 15th September – 3pm GMT 21st September 2015. These events will allow War Thunder players the chance to win ‘Battle Trophies’, and the events will change everyday at 3pm GMT. The two events until 3pm today are, Convoy Attack, where players need to destroy enemy ships while flying British bombers and Torpedo Bomber Interception, which requires players to destroy British bombers while flying Bf.110 heavy fighters.
War Thunder is a free-to-play title that sits players in the cockpits of historic aircraft and tanks, which is made all the more authentic in virtual reality (VR), which Gaijin Entertainment has supported from the outset.
