Swedish technology studio Univrses unveiled Wands: The Magic Duel earlier this summer, stating that an upcoming crowd-funding campaign would soon be launched to help with the development of the multiplayer virtual reality (VR) experience. Since then, it has confirmed that the title will be promoted through Kickstarter beginning this October.
Wands: The Magic Duel is aiming to launch on mobile head-mounted displays (HMDs), using smartphone input for player controls. The videogame is based on the idea of competitive multiplayer in which each player takes on the role of a wizard in a virtual environment. The players can use the motion control of a smartphone to cast spells and defend against their opponents attacks.
The Kickstarter campaign for Wands: The Magic Duel has been confirmed for launch next month, though no further details – such as finance goals or reward tiers – are available at present. Univrses stated in a recent public mailout, “You can expect much more screenshots and videos in weeks to come as we look forward to our Kickstarter launch in October.”
New concept art for the character designs of Wands: The Magic Duel was recently revealed, and VRFocus will keep you updated with any new assets distributed in the run-up to the launch of the Kickstarter campaign.
