nDreams, the UK-based developer behind virtual reality (VR) video game The Assembly has teamed up with the organisers of the annual VRTGO VR and Augmented Reality (AR) conference and expo for a new competition.
The event, which is also supported by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) and British gaming and digital entertainment body Ukie is running a contest for both students and those involved in start-up studios or companies. Those who are successful with their submitted VR prototype could see it on display at the event and its after party, receive affiliation with VRTGO, spend time with SCEE’s VR team and receive mentoring from nDreams, the largest VR-focused videogame developer in the UK. SCEE and Nvidia will also be involved in the judging.
“We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the VRTGO competition and can’t wait to see what fresh ideas and original concepts the VR enthusiast community put forward. Being able to offer mentoring to those behind the winning entry is an incredibly exciting prospect; we’re eager to share our skills and experience from the forefront of the fast-moving world of VR development.” nDreams CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh said of the partnership.
The event will take place on 12th November, details can be found here: https://vrtgovrcontest.eventbrite.co.uk
“We are seeing some interesting VR concepts from small companies and students and we thought VRTGO could give them a platform to showcase some of their work. We are purposely leaving the contest brief very wide, so as to encourage a diverse range of entertainment and serious entries.” said Secret Sauce representative Carri Cunliffe.
