VRDC Beings Call for Talk Submissions

It might not seem that long since the last Game Developers Conference (GDC), but the videogame industry never stands still. So GDC 2016 has now announced it is looking for speakers for its two day summit as well as the all new Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC).

2016 will be the inaugural year for the VRDC, a special two-day event where developers of all types will get the opportunity to discuss and explore immersive themes, experiences and more based around virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) projects. Programming for the conference, spearheaded by two parallel industry Advisory Boards, will include valuable content for the rapidly-growing community of VR game developers and studios looking to maximize the potential of VR technology for interactive gaming, CG movies, 360 degree filmed experiences and beyond.

VRDC2016

The VRDC has two tracks for the conference which are:

Game VR/AR Track

  • The Game VR/AR track will explore Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in game development, pertaining to topics across multiple disciplines including Design, Production, Programming, and Visual Art. It will showcase exciting, current work happening in VR and AR game development and offer value disciplines including Design, Production, Programming, and Visual Art. able, actionable and/or inspiring takeaways for the VRDC audience.

Entertainment VR/AR Track

  • Virtual and Augmented Reality is about so much more than just games. The Entertainment VR/AR Track will discuss VR and AR applications, design, implementation and development across multiple industries including Entertainment, Travel, Retail, Fitness, Product Design, Journalism, Sports Entertainment.

Those wishing to submit a talk proposal and requiring further information can do so here. Submissions will close on Friday 2nd October 2015 at 11.59 PT. GDC 2016 will be taking place on March 16th – 18th, in the Moscone Center, San Francisco, with the conferences starting prior on Monday 14th – Tuesday 15th 2016.
