VR Novel Dirrogate – Memories with Maya has been Released

Back in July VRFocus wrote about Dirrogate – Memories with Maya, a virtual reality (VR) experience based on published sci-fi novel by Penguin, Maya by Clyde Desouza. Produced by Master Media, the VR graphic novel is now available to download.

Dirrogate – Memories with Maya is a 9 1/2 minute VR experience set in India, exploring themes dealing with digital resurrection and digital immortality. While Master Media have stated the VR graphic novel is aimed at VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift, Gear VR and any VR head-mounted displays (HMD’s) capable of playing stereo 360 video, it has only been tested with the Ouclus Rift and Gear VR HMD’s.

The download will include the screenplay for Maya, which will help bring the audience up to speed on the story, and is currently available from here.

For those without a VR HMD the experience can also be viewed on YouTube and VRideo, via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys. It can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app for the 360 degree experience, and with Google Cardboard for further immersion.

VRFocus will continue to follow any further updates to Dirrogate – Memories with Maya and report back.
