A number of virtual reality (VR) titles involve the throwing of projectiles, a good example of this being The Workshop by CCP Games’ VR Lab where you threw projectiles to destroy red towers, as well as dispensed lightning from your powered hand. Whilst the latest title to come to Samsung’s Gear VR smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD) doesn’t track motion in that way, the title from Portland-based VR artist and developer Damon Pidhajecky certainly wants you to get your eye in when it comes to practice your aiming skills.
Snow Strike takes place in a winter wonderland where it is positively every child for themselves. You must use your stock of snowballs to defeat the other children and defend your snow fort from attacks by them, evil snowmen and even ‘drive-by sledding’ attacks.
A version for the Google Cardboard also came out last month as is available as a free download via Google Play. However a new version (1.25) has come out today specifically for the Gear VR. Snow Strike is now available on Oculus’ Gear VR store for $1.99 (USD).
VRFocus will continue to bring you updates and news about the latest VR videogames and experiences.
