Taking place next month is Design Network North’s monthly networking event, Rise and Design No.61. The event being held in Gateshead, UK, will be focused on virtual reality (VR) and will be bringing a range of speakers from across the UK videogame industry.
This event, which is held jointly with sponsor VRTGO Labs will showcase both the latest technology and a range of ways that businesses are using VR to create, understand and explore their world in new ways.
Speakers for the event include Carri Cunliffe from VRTGO Labs – VRTGO Labs is the regional hub for VR companies and applications, and Carri will describe the current state of the technology and market. Shaun Allan from Vector 76 – Shaun has developed VR and AR applications for art installations, road safety campaigns and architectural projects. He will describe some of these and more. Christian Frausig from Hammerhead VR – Hammerhead have brought to life everything from superyachts to French cheese, and experiences from racing cars to alien abductions. Christian will talk about the huge range of applications for VR in business. Justin Pringle, Drone Operations and Shaun Allan, Vector 76 – Advances in drone technology are opening up the skies to just about anyone. Vector 76 talks about combining this with VR. And Eddie Beardsmore from Coatsink Games who will be giving a behind the scenes look at the development of Esper.
Rise and Design No.61 will be taking place on Friday 9th October 2015, at the Northern Design Centre, Gateshead between 8:30am – 11.30pm GMT. Signing up is free and can be done so here.
