This weekend Samsung announced on its blog that the company is planning to bring its presentations from the IFA, in Berlin, Germany to a world wide audience with the help of virtual reality (VR), through its SamsungTomorrow website.
Through the website users using smartphones and tablets will be able to view what’s happening at Samsung in full 360 degree VR video. And anybody who owns a Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy S6/ S6 Edge with the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) will be able to experience the full immersive effect.
Usually the IFA is where Samsung would unveil its latest flagship handsets, but those who read VRFocus will know that the company held an Unpacked event in New York last month. Samsung showcased the Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphone and the Galaxy Note 5 phablet. What the company maybe showing at the IFA exhibition is unknown, it could be that Samsung might show the consumer version of the Gear VR HMD which is rumoured this year, but that is widely expected to be announced at the Oculus Connect 2 event later in September, with whom Samsung partnered with to produce the device.
VRFocus will be monitoring any announcements from the IFA which begins on the 4th September and report back.
