Earlier this year VRFocus reported on Vanguard V indie developer Zero Transform creating Pulsar Arena at the Oculus Mobile VR Jam. The rhythm based shooter was designed for the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) and now its has been revealed the title will also support the Oculus Rift HMD and Oculus Touch motion controller.
The news was revealed at the Oculus Connect 2 event, which is taking place this week in Hollywood, California. Pulsar Arena will be playable at the developers conference, although whether its in a demo form or a completed title isn’t clear.
The title sees two players face off in this rhythm-based shooter that is controlled using the Oculus Touch devices. Players find themselves at either end of a giant hourglass balanced between a beating binary pulsar system with a 360 degree playing field. Objects known as Polyballs will fly around the player and looking at them on beat will cause the player to shoot them. The aim is to shoot multiple Polyballs, ranking up combos. Each combatant must destroy as many Polyballs as possible to keep their floor from falling apart and sending them into a Pulsar star.
VRFocus will continue to bring you all the latest news and reveals from the Oculus Connect 2 conference as they’re announced.
