Oculus VR Confirmed for Paris Games Week [UPDATED]

Paris Games Week (PGW) is set to take place from 28th October – 1st November 2015, and is already a show to watch for virtual reality (VR) fans. Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has confirmed that it will be hosting another press conference at the event, with more reveals expected for its PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD), this was rebranded this week having previously been named Project Morpheus. But SCE’s kit isn’t the only VR device heading to PGW; Oculus VR will be there too.

Oculus Rift consumer headset

The company behind both the Oculus Rift HMD and Gear VR mobile HMD will indeed be exhibiting at this year’s event. It’s not yet clear what titles the company will be bringing with it, though a list will likely be revealed via the Oculus Live app nearer the time. That said, it’s a safe bet that the company will be showcasing the same experiences that have been on display at previous shows through 2015. These include Gunfire Games’ Chronos, Playful’s Lucky’s Tale, Insomniac Games Edge of Nowhere, and Sanzaru Games’ VR Sports Challenge among others.

All of these titles have previously been showcased running on the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, which is set to launch in the first quarter of 2016. PGW also takes place around a month after Oculus VR’s own anticipated event, the Oculus Connect 2 developer conference in Hollywood, California. With this in mind, it’s possible that the company might have some new experiences an updated hardware to show off in France later on.

VRFocus will continue to follow Oculus VR’s progress, reporting back with the latest on the company.

UPDATE: Oculus VR has contacted VRFocus to clarify that it actually won’t be attending this year’s PGW, and its inclusion on the website is a mistake. VRFocus apologies for the error.
