There’s been a barrage of new videogame announcements over the last few days for the Oculus Touch motion controllers that pair with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). At the Oculus Connect 2 event this week Starport creator Otherworld Interactive revealed its new virtual reality (VR) title Nimbus Knights would now support Oculus VR’s HMD. The studio only released details of the title last month with support for the HTC Vive. And now Otherworld Interactive has posted gameplay footage of Nimbus Knights using Oculus Touch.
The video is possibly one of the longest running that Otherworld Interactive have released. Showing a good portion of what the videogame involves, the major noticeable difference in this video is the virtual inclusion of the Oculus Touch controllers.
Nimbus Knights is a Real Time Strategy (RTS) VR game that appoints players as ruler over the sky kingdom. You can guide your minions from a giant’s point of view or get in close to help them fight their battles one on one. The goal being to defeat the skeleton king and bring peace to the skies.
Unlike the HTC Vive the Oculus Touch controllers won’t coming bundled with the Oculus Rift as they will be launching after the HMD has been released. Maybe in time Oculus VR might create a bundle with the motion controllers, but as of now they are still due to be sold separately. VRFocus will continue to follow the latest updates on Nimbus Knights and Oculus Touch and will report any announcements made.
