After yesterday’s Leap Motion compatible app to look at how your brain works, Thursday’s New To VR heads back to the genre of horror for a virtual reality (VR) supporting videogame from Steam.
Made by developers The Andronauts, Mental Torment: Episode Two is a follow-up to their initital title from the series. Currently on Steam Greenlight, Mental Torment: Episode Two takes you on a tense journey through the world of Amygdala Castle. A place where nothing is quite what it seems, and what it seems you sincerely hope it is not! Your task is a simple one, to survive, but it’s not going to be easy as the castle is filled with fiendish challenges designed to send you to your doom and an entity staling the blood splattered corridors with you on its mind. Will you succeed when it seems the whole world is against you?
Powered by Unreal Engine 4, the game supports the DK1 and DK2 versions of the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) with future support confirmed for the HTC Vive and additional compatibility with Razer’s Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) system planned.
