New To VR: Relive SOULPIX’s EDEN Gamescom Demo On VR Share

We’re off into space for today’s proof of concept virtual reality (VR) video game from Arcophobia creators SOULPIX. Created in just four weeks using Unreal Engine 4 initially for this year’s Gamescom event,

EDEN has you the sole survivor of a crash on an unknown world. You’ve lost virtually everything, including your memories of before the crash. Your only companions are a robotic dog and a reconnaissance drone. Consisting of two levels, the crash site and the wider desert, it is up to you to explore, scavenge and survive the desert. Not only that the planet is far from deserted with many lifeforms who may treat you as friend, foe or food.

The first full episode will be available from 2016, Whilst the proof of concept is basic for now with limited gameplay, it supports the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMDs). You can find a video for the demo below:

VRFocus will continue to bring you news regarding EDEN as well as the other projects released by SOULPIX.  We will be back tomorrow for another item which is new to VR.
