Earlier in the week VRFocus reported that UK-based indie developer Sigtrap Games revealed the release date for its virtual reality (VR) compatible title Sublevel Zero. As that date slowly nears, the developer has released some new screenshots of the videogame that supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
Sublevel Zero is a 6-degree-of-freedom (6DoF) shooter inspired by classics like Descent and Forsaken. In the first-person experience players pilot a lone gunship around randomly generated levels set in an underground facility. As they weave through tunnels and caverns players will encounter enemies and gather keys to unlock new paths. Weapons are also randomly generated and gathering upgrades will allow players to combine them to create more powerful tools. The further players progress, the more they will unlock, although the features a permadeath system, where dying will send them back to the start with a new map to explore.
Sublevel Zero is due for release on 8th October 2015 and VRFocus will continue to follow all the latest news and updates on the title as Sigtrap Games announces them.
