Last week at the Oculus Connect 2 developer conference it was announced that developer Hidden Path Entertainment would be bringing last year’s popular tower defence title, Defense Grid 2 to the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted (HMD) with Defense Grid 2 Enhanced VR Edition. The team will be releasing the new version in time for the release of the consumer HMD in the first quarter 2016. Now the first screenshots of the VR version of the title have arrived and can be seen below.
A total of 13 new images can be seen below. For the new version the developer will be rebuilding the title’s user-interface and designing new controls that are created for VR. The original title saw players build a range of towers to fend off hordes of alien enemies, and this core element hasn’t changed here.
It’s not yet clear if the title could also come to other VR HMDs such as HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. VRFocus will continue to follow Defense Grid 2 Enhanced VR Edition closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the title.
