Oculus Connect 2 isn’t the only major virtual reality (VR) event to take place next week; the EGX consumer show will also be taking place in Birmingham, UK from 24th – 27th September 2015. The event will see a number of VR developers put their titles on display, with attendees able to sample the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR head-mounted displays (HMDs). One such developer is nDreams, currently working on The Assembly for all 3 of the aforementioned devices. In fact, nDreams is also hosting one of the event’s many dev sessions, which it’s explained more of today.
As noted on nDreams’ own blog, CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh and Senior Designer Jackie Tetley will be discussing ‘Creating Real Games in Virtual Reality’ at the event at 16:00 BST on 24th September. The talk will apparently include a ‘a frank, straightforward view on developing games for VR and what this emerging tech means for games we’ll enjoy at home.’ Outside of this talk, the company will be demonstrating The Assembly running on the Oculus Rift at its own stand on the show floor.
The developer will even giving away free copies of The Assembly to 5 people that go to try it. All attendees need to do is send a tweet with an image of them playing the title on the show floor with the hashtag #TheAssemblyVR. Each retweet of that submission will give entrants an additional entry, increasing their chance of winning. Winners will then receive a download code for the title either for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or PlayStation 4 HMDs when it launches. Deadlines for submissions is Friday 16th October 2015.
VRFocus will continue to follow The Assembly closely, reporting back with any further updates on the title.
