Earlier today Unity Technologies released a new sizzle reel showcasing some of the upcoming virtual reality (VR) videogames that were being developed using its Unity 5 engine. Among the clips was new footage of Narcosis, the first-person adventure title from indie developer Honor Code that’s on its way to the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). That isn’t all the new Narcosis news today, however, as it’s also been confirmed that the developer is heading to Oculus Connect 2 later this week.
Oculus Connect 2, Oculus VR’s official developer conference, is running from 23rd – 25th September 2015 at the Loews Hotel in Hollywood, California. Honor Code will be there along with a brand new gameplay demo for Narcosis, which it notes will last between 15 – 20 minutes. Taking place on the sea floor, this slice of the larger title is a non-linear experience that allows players to explore multiple paths, coming across different threats, puzzles and even an NPC.
Oculus Connect 2 is set to be a huge event for all VR developers, with Oculus VR promising to provide updates on the Oculus Rift, Oculus Touch, and Gear VR during CEO Brendan Iribe’s keynote speech on 24th September. Either side of that talk are a number of other workshops and sessions that will help creators get the best out of their VR projects, with the likes of both Epic Games and Unity Technologies offering their own events.
VRFocus will be at Oculus Connect 2 to deliver the latest updates on any and all VR experiences.
