Moonstrike a virtual reality (VR) videogame by indie developer Big Dorks Entertainment has been revealed to be on demonstration for the Oculus Rift HMD at the Oculus Connect 2 Conference in Hollywood, California this week. As well as supporting the HMD the title is also compatible with the Oculus Touch motion controllers.
MoonStrike is a boiled down realtime strategy game (RTS), built from day one for VR immersion. Up to three players can battle against each other, with different races with different play styles to choose as you compete to control the galaxy.
Big Dorks Entertainment is made up of two developers Lee Perry and Tiffany Smith. Lee has previously been Lead Designer at Epic Games, Art Director and Lead Level Designer at Ion Storm, President and Co-Founder of Bitmonster Games, Artist at SquareSoft, and several other roles before starting MoonStrike. While Tiffany has worked on Cave Story Wii and God of War3 Remastered since joining the industry in 2001.
MoonStrike isn’t just being designed for the Oculus Rift, with release plans for all major VR headsets in 2016. VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of Moonstrike as Big Dorks Entertainment releases more information closer to next years launch.
