Available at a discounted rate for a limited period, is survival horror experience Monstrum, created by indie developer Team Junkfish. The title which was originally launched in May can be purchased from the Humble Store for anyone yet to snap up the videogame.
Monstrum is currently available for the offer price of £5.99 GBP rather than the usual £11.99 GBP. But the time limit is short, with the counter currently giving just over 24 hours left to go. The offer is only available through the Humble Store, and provides either a Steam Key or DRM free copy. The title if bought directly through Steam is the full retail price. Originally launched with support for Windows, the video now supports Mac and Linux operating systems too. Team Junkfish have also stated that Monstrum will support virtual reality (VR) and will be available for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) in the near future.
Monstrum is a first-person horror experience that places players on a derelict cargo ship. Players must explore that ship, searching for an escape route. The title features a permadeath system, so that, when players are caught and killed by enemies on board, they’ll have to start over from scratch. The ship is also procedurally generated, meaning that players will have to navigate through new ships every time they restart.
VRFocus will continue to follow Monstrum‘s progress, reporting back with the latest updates from Team Junkfish on the project.
