Production company Lithic VR, which specialises in the development of live-action Virtual Reality programming today announced the premiere of their short film Initimate Strangers, a live-action story directed by Adam Cosco. The short appears through the Littlstar digital media content sharing platform.
Littlstar, which shows and distributes 360° video and virtual reality (VR) film projects, is hosting the eight minute short on its website and through its mobile app which supports the Google Cardboard smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD). It will then be distributed on other platforms, such as Samsung’s Milk VR service for its Gear VR HMD.
“Lithic strives to pioneer live action VR by straying from gimmicky content that is overly aware of the new medium. Above all, we want to tell compel-ling stories with unique filmmakers, which is why we are excited to partner with Littlstar, who shares our vision.” Lithic VR’s founder and producer Matisse Tolin commented on the partnership.
Matthew Collado, the co-founder and CCO of Littlstar also remarked on the release. “We were thrilled to premiere Intimate Strangers on our emerging platform. As a VR experience with a powerful narrative, this is just the first step in a long journey that will take us from where entertainment is today, to the future of fully immersive film.”
