At today’s Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) pre-Tokyo Games Show (TGS) press conference, Tecmo Koei took the stage to announce a handful of new titles. Perhaps the best was saved til last however, as a virtual reality (VR) demo version of Dynasty Warriors 8 for the newly renamed PlayStation VR (formerly Project Morpheus) was revealed.
Known as Shin Sangokumusou 7 in Japan, Dynasty Warriors 8 launched worldwide back in 2013 on multiple formats. Since then, a number of revised editions – Xtreme Legends and Empires – have also been launched, however Dynasty Warriors 8 remains on of the most critically acclaimed titles the franchise has yet offered despite it’s age. This is perhaps why Koei Tecmo decided to use Dynasty Warriors 8 as the basis for their first public exhibition on PlayStation VR.
No details of the demo have yet been revealed, however it has been confirmed that it will be playable on the show floor at TGS later this week. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors 8 VR demo and other titles for PlayStation VR.
