High Voltage on Damaged Core, Oculus Exclusivity and Conduit Comparisons

It’s fitting that High Voltage Software be handed the burden of the virtual reality (VR) first-person shooter (FPS). After all, the studio was one of the few to deliver a solid FPS experience on Nintendo’s Wii using its motion controller with its action series, The Conduit. Now the developer is tackling that same challenge in VR with a sci-fi FPS known as Damaged Core, which was announced at E3 2015 in June. VRFocus got the chance to sit down with the developer at the event to find out more.

The interview below features Damaged Core designer Micah Skaritka discussing the title’s origins and the challenges of adapting on of the videogame industry’s most popular genres to suit VR. He also touches upon potential comparisons with The Conduit series and explains more about the new title’s central mechanics and systems.

VRFocus will continue to follow Damaged Core closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the title’s progress.
