Final Fantasy XIV Online VR Screenshots Revealed

Following the reveal of a virtual reality (VR) demo of Final Fantasy XIV Online yesterday, Square Enix has offered a small selection of screenshots taken from this new edition of the videogame. Final Fantasy XIV Online will be playable on the newly renamed PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD) at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) this week, located at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan’s (SCEJ) booth.

Final Fantasy XIV Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that encountered a number of hurdles on it’s path to success. Originally launched in 2010, Final Fantasy XIV Online was eventually redesigned and relaunched as Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn in 2013. The PlayStation 4 edition of Final Fantasy XIV Online follows the model of Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn and was launched last year.

The images featured below are the first official screenshots taken from the VR demo of Final Fantasy XIV Online, playable at TGS this week. In the demo, players will be taken on one of the videogame’s ‘Trials’, which take the form of encounters with high-powered enemies. Whether or not this new rendition of Final Fantasy XIV Online will have life beyond TGS is not yet known, however VRFocus will of course keep you updated with all the latest details.
