Final Approach the virtual reality (VR) videogame by indie developer Phaser Lock Interactive, was initially designed for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) with Oculus Rift support arriving in the future. It has now been revealed that the videogame will be on demonstration for the Oculus Rift HMD at the Oculus Connect 2 Conference as well as supporting the Oculus Touch motion controllers.
The news was announced at Oculus Connect 2 itself today. Phaser Lock Interactive hadn’t previously announced when Final Approach would be coming to the HMD, and this is the first news of the title supporting Oculus Touch. As the title was originally developed for HTC’s motion controllers, its not surprising that the developer would be supporting Oculus’ own.
Final Approach is Phaser Lock Interactive’s take on airport management games, where players manage various aircraft though the videogames hostile sky’s and into the safety of the airport. Players will have the ability to view the airport at its level, to take control of fire hoses to put out flaming planes, air horns to help rid your airport of annoying wildlife, and building anti-aircraft guns to bring down would be attackers. Once that’s sorted, return to your original overview to carry out search and rescue missions and defend against the occasional UFO attack.
Further details may emerge from the conference about Final Approach and its compatibility with Oculus Touch, when its does VRFocus will be there to bring you the latest announcements.
