Convrge the indie developer which regularly hosts live discussions and Q&A sessions with the virtual reality (VR) community via its app, has released a new VR title this week. Titled Stacks, the VR videogame has been designed to support the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD).
Stacks is a basic building game where you have a table displayed in front of you, onto which small multi-coloured blocks can be placed. Placing these smaller blocks creates a much larger block to appear in the game world. These can then be built up into whatever configuration you can think of, whether its giant towers, buildings, tunnels or just random assortments. But Stacks isn’t just about building, it’s also about combining music with destruction. After you’ve finished building your creation a black column appears next to your table with a red button, pressing it then explodes the blocks across the entire screen, with some moving fast while others seem to be in slow motion.
A teaser trailer is shown below, and the VR videogame is available to download for free at Convrge’s trailer page on YouTube for those that have the Oculus Rift DK2 HMD. VRFocus will continue to follow the latest announcements from Convrge on its future projects and live discussions.
